Inspiration -

Lungta Prayer Flags
Lungta Prayer Flags

This collection is inspired by the vibrant symbolism of Tibetan Prayer Flags, particularly the Windhorse (Lungta). Traditionally hung outdoors, prayer flags are believed to carry blessings, prayers and positive intentions in the wind.

With this collection, my vision was to bring that same sense of peace, harmony, and uplifting energy indoors—creating artwork that infuses a home with beauty, positive intention,

and a welcoming presence for everyone who enters.

Additionally in feng shui, the Windhorse is a powerful symbol of protection, good fortune, and success. It represents strength to overcome obstacles, pursue one's aspirations, and move through life with courage and confidence. Living with these images inspires a sense of joy and well-being and serves as gentle reminders of hope, resilience and possibility.

How they are made -

Woodblock prints
Woodblock prints

Traditionally Tibetan Prayer Flags were created using hand-carved woodblock prints. Here is my collection of woodblocks that feature the Lungta and prints that I made on unique textles I have gathered over the years.

Whether the lungta print is on a textile or printed directly on the artwork, I often include this imagery as a reminder of the inspiration behind this collection.

How I create Windhorse Textiles -

Wild & Free ... "Increase and extend life, luck, strength and prosperity"
Wild & Free ... "Increase and extend life, luck, strength and prosperity"
  • Each piece begins by creating my interpretation of a Windhorse (Lungta) prayer flag - using one of my fine art photographs of a horse digitally printed on a textile. I intentionally leave the edges raw and unsewn. Allowing the natural fraying and loose threads to remain visible to illustrate the beauty and complexity of how the fabric is woven.

  • The digitally printed textile photograph is then layered over unique handcrafted papers with rich and distinctive textures. Creating a fine art collage layered with meaning, textures and material presence.

  • As a final gesture, I hand-script a Tibetan message onto the work of art. This handwritten element connects the artwork to the tradition that inspired it while adding a deeply personal and meditative touch.

  • Together, these elements create both the visual language and the intention behind each work of fine art, Every piece is made as a quiet offering - designed to bring peace, invoke happiness, and fill a space with a sense of harmony and positive energy.
